C) Savings on Recurring Expenses
It can be seen from the above table that, plant will loose total 4657 MW per year due to rise in air temperature over and above design air temperature.

On the other hand if MCS is used with air cooled condenser, plant will operate at it design efficiency or more throughout the year. MCS Pumps will consume total 65 MW per year (60 KW per hour X 1080 Hours of operation per year).

Hence, total additional power generated due to installation of Mist Cooling System will be 4592 MW per year.

If we convert this into currency, at Rs. 3.5 per KW, Plant will gain around Rs. 160 Lacs per year due to installation of MCS for your ACC.

Also even if MCS is operated when air temperature is 40°C or lower, it will further reduce Air temperature by 3°C to 4°C say to around 35°C to 36°C  thus giving addition power output.

IT CAN BE SEEN FROM ABOVE THAT TOTAL SAVINGS ON RECURRING EXPENSES, DUE TO REDUCED POWER LOSS, WILL BE RS. 160 LACS PER YEAR.

INITIAL INVESTMENT ON MCS IS:
RS. 95 LACS (EQUIPMENT COST) + RS. 10 LACS (CIVIL WORKS) = RS.105 LACS

PAY BACK PERIOD OF MCS WILL BE LESS THAN 1 YEAR ONLY.
