During this testing, we
were able to obtain 690 mm Hg vacuum in the pans which
is about 70 mm more compared to previous system. Nevertheless
it is noted here that with the previous spray pond system
our cold water temps were as high as 40 °C.

MCS PERFORMANCE – We submit below the performance data
with MCS in operation:
18% steam saving and subsequent bagasse saving.
Evaporator (1st, pre) was operated at lower exhaust steam
pressure (0.6 Kg/cm2 instead of 0.9 Kg/cm2).
Evaporator last effect 52 °C achieved to previous 58 °C.
Vacuum pans - 57 °C to previous 67 to 68 °C.
23% injection pump capacity was saved.
At 90 RH cold water obtained by MCS was 28°C as compared
with 40 °C obtained by previous spray pond system.
An appreciable saving on replacement water was noticed.
